Maldives Immigration has issued notices to over 270 migrant workers with incomplete visa documents.
Immigration said in a post on Thursday that a total of 582 locations were searched and 1,025 foreigners questions during a special operation conducted in Male' city from 1600-1800hrs. Additionally, the authority also issued a written advisory to 120 Maldivians employing migrant workers illegally.
Immigration also detained 10 migrant workers who had been evading authorities.
According to Immigration, Thursday's operation was the largest ever in the authority's 74-year history.
Over 3,000 migrant workers have been deported since Immigration began the operation to trace illegal migrant workers.
