Cafe's and restaurants will now have to register with Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA).
MFDA said on Monday night that registrations and permits for food service establishments previously provided by Health Protection Agency (HPA) have been transferred to MFDA with the enforcement of Food Protection Act.
As such, the 'OneGov' services will be suspended until Thursday while the services provided by HPA are transferred to MFDA on 'OneGov'.
The change comes after multiple establishments were shut down over hygiene issues.
