Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) has lifted action taken against Avid College for violating program accreditation regulations.
MQA took action against Avid College on 28 July following multiple complaints regarding the programmes offered at the college.
In a statement issued on Monday, MQA said that the Authority had met with Avid College to review the corrective measures taken by the college. MQA team has since visited the college to determine whether the issues have been resolved, resulting in the measures imposed by MQA to be lifted.
Initially, following the complaints against the college, MQA changed the status of the accredited programmes in the 'e-learning modality' to 'conditionally accredited' and ruled that any programs authorized under the e-learning modality can only operate further by advertising once it is approved for "fully accredited status" again.
The MQA also ordered Avid College to improve its violations of the national qualifications framework and program accreditation.
