Immigration authorities have detained an additional 15 immigrants for running a food business without valid permits and in unsanitary conditions.

In a post on X, immigration said that the authority raided a residence in Henveiru following a tip-off regarding illegal businesses.

The authority detained fifteen immigrants during the raid. The operation was joined by Economic Ministry, Police, Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) and Health Protection Agency (HPA).

MFDA has issued a notice to stop the business being carried out there.
