Islamic Minister Dr. Mohammed Shaheem Ali Saeed has stated that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is behind the work and achievements of the Islamic Ministry.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the annual meeting of scholars held at the Islamic Center yesterday, Shaheem said President Muizzu is the biggest sharer of the success of the Islamic Ministry. He said the government in the Maldives today will continue to give victory to Islam.

"This is a great opportunity in our lives to expand our service of Islam and spread Islam to the people. I have no doubt that we will all be happy to have a government that will give victory to maintain Islam in the Maldives," Shaheem said.

He added that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs will give top priority to strengthen the Sunni Islamic faith among the youth.

The program aims to train 1,000 Hatheebs within five years and 300 Hatheebs will be produced before the end of this month, he said.
