The Ministry of Finance is seeking developers to build ice plants in five islands.
Under the project, 50 tonne ice plants will be built in Haa Alif Dhidhoo, Haa Alif Ihavandhoo, Shaviyani Komandoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Rathafandhoo and Alif Alif Rasdhoo.
The ice plants are being built in the five islands with the assistance of the Saudi Fund for Development.
The bids will be opened on Tuesday, October 20, 2024 at 11:00 am, according to the Ministry of Finance's gazetted notice. A fee of MVR 1,500 or USD 100 is required to register to participate in the bid. The payment can be made during official hours from today until October 15, through the online payment portal of the Ministry of Finance - Bandeyripay.

The pre-bid meeting for the project will be held on the 10th of next month at 1:00 pm through Microsoft Teams.
The bid security for the project is set as MVR 250,000.00 or equivalent in dollars. The term of the bid security is 148 days from the date of bid opening.
The Fisheries Ministry said in April that ice plants were being built in 11 islands with the assistance of Saudi funds.
