MET Office has issued a white alert across the country.

The alert was issued for the entire country from 1200 - 1800hrs today.

MET Office said heavy rains with thundershowers are expected during the alert period. Wind speeds up to 40mph are to be expected.

Weather is expected to be bad across the Maldives during this period, MET said.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said 37 houses in the city and 77 houses in 13 islands were damaged last week.
