The proceeds of the 'Falastheenaa eku Dhivehin' telethon have been deposited into the account of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).

The telethon, which was initiated by PSM in collaboration with several media outlets in the country, raised MVR 19 million. The money was handed over to the Foreign Ministry on July 3 for transfer to the Palestinian people.

A Foreign Ministry official confirmed to One that the money was sent directly to UNRWA's account through the ministry and the Central Bank (MMA). The money was sent in USD, the official said.

To ensure transparency, the telethon was audited by Crow Maldives.
