Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has sponsored the Maldives Travel Conference 2024 Women's Edition to empower women working in the tourism sector.

The Maldives Travel Conference 2024 Women’s Edition was held at Hotel Jen yesterday. The conference was graced by First Lady Sajidha Mohammed.

MACL said the main objective of sponsoring the conference is to empower women working in various sectors of the Maldives as one of the most important partners in tourism in Maldives. The conference was organized with the aim of addressing the challenges faced by women in the workplace and encouraging women to be empowered.

Speaking at the Maldives Travel Conference 2024 Women's Edition, MACL Senior General Manager Aerodrome Management Services Mahmooda Shareef said although women were working in engineering and airfield management, there were few women in leadership positions. She also stressed the importance of gender equality and said that MACL management is taking important steps to appoint women to leadership positions.

The main objective of the Maldives Travel Conference 2024 Women's Edition is to increase the opportunities available to women in the tourism sector.

The conference also featured two panel discussions involving women in the tourism industry, where the panelists exchanged views on eliminating discrimination in senior positions, challenges faced by women in the tourism industry and attitudes towards those working in the tourism industry in the Maldives.
