Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer and Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) Governor Ahmed Munawwar departed for Saudi Arabia today on an official visit.

Zameer, who is on a five-day visit at the invitation of Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, will present a letter addressed to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud by President Mohamed Muizzu.

In addition, he will meet the Saudi Foreign Minister to discuss further strengthening of the long-standing close relations between the two countries and issues of mutual interest.

During his visit, Zameer will meet other senior officials of the Saudi government and the Saudi Fund for Development as well as Maldivians living in Riyadh.

Zameer is accompanied by Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohammed, Foreign Ministry Ambassador at Large Ahmed Naseer, Joint Secretary Badra Saeed and Director General Aishat Farina.
