President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated the new PM of Thailand, Paetongtarn Shinawatra.

Paetongtarn sailed through a House vote on Friday, winning 319 votes, or nearly two-thirds of the house to become Thailand's second female prime minister and the third Shinawatra to take the office, following Thaksin and her aunt Yingluck Shinawatra.

In his post on X on Sunday, President Dr. Muizzu conveyed hope for development and prosperity for Thailand under Paetongtarn Shinawatra's leadership. He also expressed hope continued diplomatic relations between Maldives and Thailand.
