The Speaker of the Parliament, Abdul Raheem Abdulla has departed for China on an official visit to attend a workshop between the legislatures of developing countries.
The Speaker left to attend the "2024 Inter-Regional Seminar on the Achievement of the SDGs for Parliaments of Developing Countries". The meeting will begin on Sunday and continue till Friday.
The Speaker is accompanied on this trip by Baarah MP Ibrahim Shujau, Vilimale' MP Mohamed Ismail, and Hulhudhoo MP Mohamed Shahid.
The six-day workshop is being jointly organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Chinese Parliament. During the meeting, the UN The role that legislatures can play in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the Government of India will be discussed.
