Police have arrested a man in connection with the assault and mugging in Hulhumale'.

Police said the man assaulted a foreign woman who works at a spa in Hulhumale' Phase I and mugged her.

'One' has come to know the woman was attacked with a box cutter and suffers injuries to her thigh and hand.

Police made an arrest under a court order on Saturday night.

As per publicised details, the man arrested in the case is Ali Shammah, 29, GDh. Thinadhoo.

Shammah has a previous criminal record according to Criminal Court statistics.
