Police have arrested two individuals in Laamu Atoll for drug trafficking and brewing alcohol.

Police said today that last Friday, Laamu Gan, Thundi Village house was searched under a court order following intelligence information received that drugs were being dealt in the premises.

24.42 grams of suspected heroin, two barrels of suspected alcohol as well as a five-liter bottle, and equipment used to brew alcohol were recovered from the house according to Police.

Two men, aged 42 and 57, have been arrested in connection with the case.

Police are investigating the incident further.
