Police has begun investigating a drug case related to a senior nurse at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
An IGMH official told One Online today that they had reported a case to the police after a senior nurse at the hospital was suspected of using drugs two weeks ago.
IGMH further revealed that she is a senior nurse who used to be a ward manager, but was later removed from her post two months ago after considering her performance.
"Her actions were suspicious, which is why we checked. This government will not support or tolerate drug use. We (IGMH) informed the police about it too. In a place that serves the people, if such a thing is alleged, action will be taken without hesitation," the official said.
Police confirmed that they have received such a report, however, no arrests have been made in the case.
Police are investigating the incident further.
