Villa College has successfully organised the first engineering exhibition in the Maldives.

The exhibition, held from 1330 - 1500hrs at Villa College hall was open for the public, and showcased 40 engineering projects, across mechatronics, mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering degree programmes run by Villa College.

The event was launched by Udhma Abdul Latheef, Head of School, Faculty of Engineering, who gave a brief account of the event and highlighting how college students are moving ahead in innovative engineering.

"The exhibition is not just an event. This is a testimony to the courage, skill, creativity and hard work shown by the students in electrical and electronics, mechanical and mechatronics engineering over the years," Udhma said.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Muaz Mohamed Rasheed, Managing Director, FENAKA Corporation Limited.

Speaking on the occasion, Muaz said that the way university students across the world are coming up with innovative engineering ideas, the country should work on engineering solutions that fit the country's landscape in the same way, adding that if students of universities in the country need help, they will be happy to help them.

Solar energy, voice control computer machines and other innovative projects were also part of the exhibition.
