Maldives has signed an agreement with Turkey to further develop the country's water and sanitation system.
Environment Minister Thorig Ibrahim signed the agreement on behalf of the Government of Maldives in an online ceremony held yesterday. The agreement was signed on behalf of Turkey by the Deputy General Director of the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration.
According to the Environment Ministry, the MoU was signed to seek technical assistance for the development of the water and sanitation sector and build people in the sector.
The purpose of the agreement is for both countries to work together in international conferences on water and sanitation to promote the development of the sector.
According to the ministry, the agreement will help the two countries to work together for the development of the water and sanitation sector.
