Parliament on Wednesday approved three Bills submitted by the government, forwarding them to the relevant committees for further review.

These include the Foreign Investment Bill, the Business Registration Act Amendment Bill and the Financial Securities Act Amendment Bill.

Hithadhoo Central MP Ahmed Azaan Marzooq moved the Foreign Investment Bill, while Faresmaathodaa MP Ashraf Rasheed moved the Business Registration Act Amendment Bill. The Financial Securities Act Amendment Bill was moved by Kendhikulhudhoo MP Mohammed Afu Hamid.

The Foreign Investment Bill was accepted by 81 votes while 80 members voted in favor of the bill to amend the Business Registration Act and 82 members voted in favor of the bill to amend the Financial Securities Act.

The bills were referred to the Economic Committee for further consideration.
