President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called on the international community to act immediately to hold Israel accountable, in light of their latest attacks against Palestine.
More than 100 people were killed in an attack on a religious school that shelters people affected by Israeli attacks.
Condemning the attack in a post on X, the President stated that "Over 39,000 innocent Palestinians have been killed since the war began in October, with Israel showing no effort toward a ceasefire. This is a clear violation of international humanitarian law. The international community must act immediately to hold Israel accountable and protect civilians."
Al Jazeera reported yesterday that the air strike targeted the school during morning prayers. Many people were taken to hospital but died while receiving treatment.
Israel said the attack was carried out because the school was home to members of Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other groups. They are reportedly involved in attacks on Israel while they are there. They included senior commanders, according to Israel.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement condemning the Israeli attack on the Tabin school in Gaza. The statement said the attack on the school, where many people had taken refuge, is in violation of international law.
The Foreign Ministry also called on the international community to take action to stop the inhuman attacks against the innocent Palestinian people.
