The President’s Office on Sunday revealed that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is scheduled to meet with the Malé City Council at 11:00 a.m. today.

“This is a visit by the President to meet with other councils in the country and to listen to the voice of the city council as he does,” the President’s Office said.

This will mark the first time President Muizzu officially meets with the Malé City Council since he was sworn in as President last November.

The government coalition won all three seats in the last by-election of the city council, bringing the total of 14 members belonging to the government coalition in the council.

The President has promised to meet and discuss with all the councils of the country. The President has also made a series of visits to the councils this year.

The visits have so far met with a total of more than 168 councils and held discussions on island development needs.
