The Civil Court has ordered the Malé City Council to pay MVR 1.1 million to Maldives Customs Service.

The case is a lawsuit filed by the Maldives Customs Service seeking to recover the amount of MVR 1.1 million allegedly due on import duties on goods imported into the Maldives.

The Civil Court ruled on Thursday that the city council had imported the 'landing craft vessel 5' under the customs declaration form and that import duty on the goods should be paid at MVR 1.1 million.

Therefore, the Civil Court has ordered the City Council to pay the money to the State within one month.
