Maldives and India have marked the completion of six projects in the Maldives under a Line of Credit from India's Exim Bank.

The project completions were celebrated at a ceremony held at Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday night. The ceremony was attended by Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer and India's External Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

The six projects completed include:

  • Mental Health Unit at R. Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital
  • Child Development Centre set up at HDh. Kulhudhuffushi City Regional Hospital
  • Inclusive Education Support Unit established at GDh. Thinadhoo City Aboobakuru School
  • Inclusive Education Support Unit set up in L. Ihahdhoo School
  • Inclusive Education Support Unit set up in HA. Atoll Education Centre
  • Street light installation project in Th. Thimarafushi, Th. Veymandoo, GA. Kondey

Jaishankar arrived in Maldives at the invitation of Minister Zameer. During the visit, Jaishankar is scheduled to call on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

During the visit, Jaishankar will inspect the construction of the Thilamale' Bridge, which is being funded by an Indian loan. He will also visit Addu City to review the progress of various projects being undertaken in addu city with Indian assistance.

After concluding his official visit to the Maldives, Jaishankar will leave for India from Gan International Airport in Addu City.

This will be Jaishankar's fourth visit to the Maldives. Jaishankar has visited the Maldives three times during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's tenure.

And this is President Dr. This will be the first official visit by a senior Indian government minister to the Maldives since Mohamed Muizzu assumed office.
