Police have asked those who paid money to buy motorcycles from Kingston Holdings Maldives Private Limited to share the information.
Police said that they are investigating Kingston after a case was registered against the company for allegedly extorting money from the public under the guise of selling motorbikes.
"Therefore, if there is any other victim of fraud in the purchase of a motorbike from Kingston Holdings Maldives Pvt. Ltd., we request you to contact the Economic Offences Investigation Number 9790048 of this service and share the information," police said.
Some of the people who paid to buy the bike from Kingston Company gathered near the Kingston office and expressed their displeasure that they had not received it over a year after the payment.
The disgruntled people approached one of the company's shareholders and asked him to either hand over the bike or return the money given to them to buy them. The company's shareholder, however, said they needed more time to hand over the bike or hand over the money.
