One of the world’s most legendary bodyboarders Dave Hubbard and current world number one Armide Soliveres have reached the final of the men’s open division of the Visit Maldives Pro 2024, part of the IBC Bodyboarding World Tour.

The Visit Maldives Pro heats have been progressing since Saturday with the most exciting heats happening today. They are for the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals.

The first men's quarter-final heats were held today. In the first heat, 2022 Visit Maldives Pro champion Hubbard took on Japan's Hayato Enokido. Hubbard scored 14.25 in the heat while Enokido scored 11.75.

France's Maxim Castillo and Brazil's Gabriel Braga contested, where Braga won the second heat of the quarterfinals with a score of 12.35 while Castillo scored 10.25.

World number three Tristan Roberts of South Africa took on current number one Armide Solivieres in the third heat of the men's quarterfinals. Armide won the heat with a score 14.5 while Tristan scored 14.25.

Last year's Visit Maldives Pro champion Pierre Louis Costes won the last heat of the quarterfinals with a score of 14.25 against Uri Valadao who scored 13.8 in the heat.

The men's semi-final heats are also over, with Hubbard defeating Braga. Hubbard took the lead in the exciting heat. He scored an overall score of 15.4 while Braga scored 15.

Armide looked in a much different spirit in the second heat of the semi-finals. Armide, who made two waves of 8.70 and 8.75, secured the final with a score of 17.25 while Pierre scored 13.35 in the semi-finals.

The final heats of the Visit Maldives Pro will also be held today.
