Three people have been arrested with 24 bottles of liquor in Vaavu Atoll Bodumohoraa, which is being developed as a resort.

Maldives Police Service said that the three were arrested following a tip-off that they were selling liquor in Bodumohoraa. Vaavu Atoll Police jointly conducted an operation today.

However, Police did not say when the operation was conducted.

Police also released the names of the arrested today, they are; Ahmed Ashraf, M. Lux Garden, Male' (43 years). Amjad Mohamed, Blue Heaven, GDh. Thinadhoo (50 years), and Nalin Indika Kodikara, Sri Lanka (53 years).

It is learned that the island was given to businessman Abdullah Jabir to build a resort.
