Maldives Immigration has detained four foreigners for selling food from an unsanitary site.

Immigration said in a post on X that the report was received through Immigration Watch. Four foreigners were arrested following the report.

Immigration has released photos of the food being prepared at the site, which clearly show that there is no cleanliness. There was a large pot cooking, and the food ready for delivery was wrapped in a bag, as visible from the photographs.

Photos of the operation released by the Immigration Department show that the foreigners were cooking in a place where there was no cleanliness. The photos also showed the cooking utensils being unclean.

Earlier, Immigration said 2,013 illegal immigrants had been deported in the past eight months.
