Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, has chaired the 5th session of the 9th Conference of Ministers of Endowments and Islamic Affairs held in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The conference is being held in Mecca, Saudi Arabia with all Islamic countries are participating in the conference. The theme of the session, chaired by Minister Shaheem, was 'Promoting Citizenship in Muslim-majority Countries and its Impact on the Establishment of Islamic Societies'

During the visit, the Minister also met with Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Najeeb, Minister of Awqaf & Religious Affairs of Palestine, on the sidelines of the 9th session of the Conference.

After concluding the conference, the Minister said: Shaheem will return to Maldives on the 7th of this month.
