Maldives' Aamin Umar Moosa has advanced to the fourth round of the Visit Maldives Pro 2024, which is part of the Bodyboarding IBC World Tour, one of the biggest international sporting events in the Maldives.

Aamin advanced to the fourth round in the men's open category in the third round, repo heats, defeating last year's world junior champion Micheel Yancce. Two athletes, who were seen faced off in the junior category as well, showed competitive skills in today's heats as well.

Yancce, who is already ranked fifth in the world, was in the lead till the end of the heats, but Aamin hit a good wave and ensured the heat. Aamin's scored 11.75 points, while Yancee scored 10.15.

Aamin was given a warm welcome from fans after completing the heat. He is the only Maldivian athlete to complete the third round and advance to men's open.

In today's repo heat, Maldives' Ali Sham Rafiu also competed against Joel Rodriguez. Rodriguez won the heat with 13 points, while Sham had a score of 8.25.

According to other results of the repo heats, Alexander Montes, who is currently ranked no. 1 in the junior rankings, beat Last year's Visit Maldives Pro junior champion Jorge Hernandez, while Joaquin Soto beat Maldives' Ahmed Nazmeen.

The athletes who have already qualified for the fourth round where Aamin will compete are the ones who finished first and second in the heats of the second round.

A total of 86 athletes from 14 countries are competing in the Visit Maldives 2024.
