Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said that Sh. Maaungoodhoo Harbour Development Project is currently underway with 70 percent project completion.

MTCC said the second shipment of rock boulders has been delivered to the project site, and breakwater profiling & channel dredging works are currently ongoing at the site. New harbour basin dredging operations have reached 71 percent completion, and access platform concrete works have been completed, MTCC said.

Scope of work for the project includes 59,013cbm of dredging operations, 3,245cbm of channel dredging operations, construction of a 362m breakwater; a 312m quay wall; a 105m revetment; installation of 1,509sqm harbour pavement, construction of a ramp & concrete jetty, installation of harbour lights and mooring buoys.

The project is valued at MVR 56.79 million.
