One of the 32 students who fell ill at the Addu City Police College is still in the ICU, the Addu Equatorial Hospital said.

Several students of the National College of Police and Law Enforcement in Addu City have been admitted to the Equatorial Hospital in Addu City.

Police said in a statement that the incident is believed to have been caused by food poisoning and the students are now being taken back to the college after receiving treatment. However, police did not say how many students were being treated.

Several students reportedly fell ill from food poisoning.

A police media officer told One Online today that there were 32 students and all but two were in good condition. The lab reports will determine what kind of food was poisoned.

The nursing coordinator of the Equatorial Hospital in Addu City told One Online today that the student in the ICU is also "stable" now.

"The students are in good condition. One of the two students in the ICU is being shifted to the ward. The other student is now stable," the nursing coordinator said.

Addu City Equatorial Hospital Admin Abdullah Waheed (Shiuz) could not be reached for further information.
