The government of Thailand has granted a 60 day visa exemption period for Maldivian tourists visiting the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that effective 15 July 2024, Maldivian nationals traveling to Thailand for the purpose of tourism, business engagements or urgent work/ad-hoc work, are now entitled to visa exemption for up to 60-days.
An additional period not exceeding 30 days may also be granted on request before the permission period expires. Extension of stay is solely at the discretion of the Royal Thai Immigration.
In the statement, the Foreign Ministry urged the people traveling abroad for various purposes to obtain travel insurance and respect the laws and regulations of the country before starting their journey.
Thailand is a country where many people come and go for various purposes.
