Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's mother, Moomina Hassan, has passed away at the age of 80 years.

It is learned that Moomina passed away while undergoing treatment at ADK early today.

In a condolence post on X today, the MDP to which President Solih belongs said, “On behalf of all its members, we extend our deepest condolences to President Solih and his family.

"I pray to Allah to grant the deceased the eternal blessings of Paradise and to give patience to the family," the post said.

Apart from President Solih, former MP Ali Niyaz is also a son of Moomina. Majeedhiyya School Principal Aiminath Solih and Fathimath Solih, who served in the President's Office for many years, are also Moomina's daughters.

In addition, Moomina has two blind children, who are all Hafizs.
