The latest statistics published by the Ministry of Tourism has revealed that 1.1 million tourist arrivals have been recorded in the Maldives this year.

According to the statistics released by the Tourism Ministry yesterday, 1,092,366 tourists arrived in the Maldives as of the 15th of this month. Statistics show that on average, more than 5,000 tourists visit the country daily.

China remains as the top source market for arrivals this year, with 137,728 tourist arrivals so far. The second largest number of tourists came from Russia. The country had 114,981 tourist arrivals.

According to tourism statistics, there are currently 62,461 beds in operation in the Maldives.
