A man has been admitted for medical treatment at IGMH after sustaining injuries while being taken into police custody.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Shifan told 'One' that a 38-year-old Maldivian man was arrested under a Court order to be presented before Drug Court on Tuesday.

"The man is currently undergoing treatment at IGMH," Shifan said.

Shifan added that a request will be made to the Police Professional Standards Command, National Integrity Commission (NIC), and Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM) to look into the incident.
