The Bar Council of Maldives has extended the deadline for registration for the Bar Examination scheduled to be held in October this year until July 31.
Registration for the examination was initially opened until the 13th of this month. However, the Bar Council said in an announcement today that the deadline has been extended until the end of this month.
The bar examination is scheduled for October 12, the announcement said. The postponement of the registration deadline will allow students who graduate in June and July to take the examination as well.
The Bar Council examination consists of six main parts. They are the Maldivian Legal System, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, Contract Law and Practice, Land Law and Practice, and Tort Law.
The bar examination is one of the two most basic requirements for obtaining a license to practice law. In addition to the bar exam, you will also need to complete a training program.
