The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that it has received MVR 74 million from unpaid dues for migrant workers working in the Maldives.
Addressing a press conference at Iskandar Koshi on Monday, Minister of State for Home Abdul Majeed said that the state had not received MVR 1.7 billion as fees for migrant workers as of June 6, including penalties to be paid in connection with the fees.
"Out of this amount, MVR 74 million has been received," Majeed said.
The Home Ministry, in a notification on June 4, had said that the state has not received the fees of 1,02,807 migrant workers.
