Maldives Police Service has begun an investigation into a case where two men were held inside a birdcage in Malé City.

A video viral on social media shows two men held captive inside a birdcage located at Artificial Beach in Male’ City. The two men were seemingly shirtless in the video.

Police said in a statement today that the video has come to their attention and they are investigating the matter.

The video shows some interaction between the people inside the birdcage and the two people outside.

As per the video, it is likely that they are being held captive due to a monetary dispute.
