State Trading Organisation (STO) has decided not to continue the construction of the flour factory in Kulhudhuffushi city.

A flour factory was decided to be built in 2021 under the management of Hussain Amr. The factory was first attempted to be built in Malé area. However, it was later decided to build the factory in Kulhudhuffushi, with a land being acquired for it later in the city.

Replying to a question raised by a shareholder at STO's annual general meeting held yesterday, Managing Director Shimad Ibrahim said upon a cross-check of the recent feasibility study with the previous one, it was observed that it was not feasible.

Therefore, the board has decided not to proceed with the work.
