Maldives Police Service on Wednesday revealed that gambling and casino sites are actively being blocked in the Maldives.

A Media Official of the Police revealed that they are working with the Communications Authority of Maldives (CAM) in blocking websites that are commonly used for gambling or as online casinos.

"Four websites have been blocked so far," the official said.

However, they did not say which websites were blocked.

The use of gambling sites has increased in the Maldives recently and the promotion of such sites on various social media platforms has also increased. While online gambling sites have been blocked, and porn websites were also blocked late last year.
