Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said Sh. Milandhoo Harbour Development Project is well underway.

MTCC said the new harbour basin dredging operations are ongoing with 31 percent completion. Harbour paving work is ongoing with 22 percent completion.

Scope of work for the project includes 17,900cbm maintenance dredging operations, 72,938cbm new harbour basin dredging operations, 8,400cbm channel dredging operations, construction of 583m breakwater, a 316m quay wall, a 93m revetment; a 25m groynes, construction of two bridges measuring 20m x3m and 54m x3m respectively, a jetty (130m x 2m), an access platform, installation of 3,863sqm pavement, installation of harbour lights and navigational aids.

The project is valued at MVR 76.44 million.
