Maldives has invited the Indian cricket team to visit the maldives to celebrate the success of this year's T20 World Cup.

"The corporation and MATI have officially invited the Indian national cricket team to celebrate the team's success in the Maldives," MMPRC said in a statement.

The invitation, sent in a letter, stated that the Maldives would like to provide the Indian team with a memorable and comfortable holiday and highlighted the cultural and sporting ties between India and the Maldives.

Managing Director of MMPRC, Ibrahim Shiuree, said that the Maldives is honoured to be a part of india's celebrations.

While the Indian cricket team has been invited to visit the Maldives for a holiday, the number of tourists arriving from India, which was the biggest source market for tourism in the Maldives last year, has gone down drastically.
