Two new board member have been appointed to Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC)

The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB), the parent body of state-owned companies, said in a post on X that Abdul Samiu Imad and Aishath Hameed have been appointed as board members.

Aishath was appointed to the mmprc board as a general member. Imad is also a board member of the Guesthouse Association of Maldives (GAM).

According to the PCB, they were appointed as board members on July 4.

The appointment of two members to the board comes after the resignation of MMPRC's Chairperson Aisha Noorain Janah and board member Rafil Mohamed.

Noorain, who was appointed chairperson in December, resigned on May 21, while Rafil resigned as a board member in April. One has come to learn that both of them resigned due to internal issues.

Following their resignation, Fathimath Taufeeq (Kudi), Managing Director of MMPRC, was dismissed from her post on May 22. MMPRC's new MD Ibrahim Shiuree was appointed to the post on June 14.
