The Ministry of Fisheries has opened the opportunity for higher education abroad.

According to an announcement made by the ministry yesterday, six courses have been opened under the Transform Project.

The courses were launched under the South West Indian Ocean Region and Maldives (Transform) project by Transforming Fisheries Management in collaboration with the Maldivian government and the World Bank. The deadline for submitting applications for the courses is before 12:00 noon on September 1st.

Courses opened under the project:

- Master's Degree in Marine Science (one slot)

- Bachelor's Degree in Aquaculture (two slots)

- Bachelor's Degree in Marine Science / Marine Biology (two slots)

- Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Science (one slot)

Qualifications or requirements include a grade of "C" in five subjects of GCE O/L if applying for a bachelor's degree course, and a grade of "C" in three subjects if you have done GCE A/L.

If applying for a Master's degree course, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and two years of experience in a relevant field should be obtained.

If the scholarship is awarded, the applicant will be bound to serve in the Ministry of Fisheries after completing the course. Therefore, if you have another service bond, you must submit a document stating that the bond will be released.
