Public Service Media (PSM) has handed over MVR 19 million raised from the Telethon to aid Palestinians to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The money received for the telethon, which was held on June 12 in collaboration with some local media outlets led by PSM, was handed over to the Palestinian people through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a special ceremony.

During the press conference held at PSM's studio on Wednesday, the funds received by Telethon were handed over to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by PSM Managing Director Zeena Zahir. Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer accepted the cheque for the money.

"PSM was able to successfully conduct the telethon with the help of several local media outlets. In particular, we would like to thank VTV, AsluTV, RaajjeTV, NTV, SunTV, Maldivian channel, TVM, and PSM News, Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu and online newspapers for their support and support in reaching out to the public about the telethon," Zeena said at the press conference.

She said that the telethon should be conducted in as transparent a manner as possible and appreciated the support provided by the Civil Service Commission (CSR) Maldives under the supervision of an independent auditor.

She further added that over MVR 40,000 was collected in coin donations during the Telethon.
