Italian military jets have been spotted at Velana International Airport (VIA) on Monday.

Four Eurofighter Typhoons and a support flight landed at VIA this afternoon.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said the aircrafts have acquired all the necessary permits before landing at VIA.

Italian military jets transited at VIA twice last year for jet fuel and logistical purposes.
