Prosecutor General (PG)'s Office has raised charges against two individuals over the theft of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Managing Director (MD) Ibrahim Shareef's vehicle.
According to the PG Office, a charge sheet has been filed against two MACL employees, M. Siniasurmage/Mohamed Haisham and M. ModernComet/Ahmed Nizam, in connection with the April 29 theft of the car meant to drive the MD of MACL in the Transport and Ferry Service Building of Velana International Airport.
Nizam has been charged with using undue authority over someone else's property in an unauthorised manner, altering something in order to deceive anyone, and causing damage to property.
The punishment for using unauthorised power over someone else's property is three years, two months and 12 days in jail. The punishment for causing damage to property and damage to property is punishable with imprisonment for nine months and 18 days for each charge.
Haisham has been charged with using unauthorised power over someone else's property.
