The man arrested for attacking a woman in the head with a rock has been remanded in custody for seven days.
Maldives Police Service arrested fisherman Ali Sajid, 32, yesterday night in connection to the case.
Police further revealed that a 46-year-old woman was injured in the fight, and was treated at the Gaafu Alif Atoll Hospital.
They also noted that Sajid was remanded in custody after being taken to the Villingili Magistrate's Court. The court ordered to remand him in custody for seven days.
Sajid is a prominent social media activist who advocates for fishermen on social media. He had recently brought to the attention of Police a case of bullying in the island as well.
