Clean Maldives, an environmental organization, has revealed that they are set to plant 1,000 trees in the second phase of Hulhumalé.

Clean Maldives said the tree planting event is scheduled for July 6th. The event is called "GoGreen" and the opportunity to participate in the tree planting is open to everyone.

Clean Maldives said the Go Green campaign aims to make the Maldives greener and reduce the damage caused by climate change.

Trees to be planted in this year’s Go Green event:

  • 500 Scaevola taccada
  • 100 Kuredhi trees
  • 200 Hibiscus tiliaceus
  • 100 Portia trees
  • 50 Boashi trees
  • 50Palms

Clean Maldives has opened for sponsorship to continue the tree planting activity. Those who wish to donate to the event are requested to transfer money to 7730000263285 (MVR) and 7730000263286 (USD).
