The 1 millionth tourist to visit the Maldives this year has received a warm welcome.
A Thai tourist, who came to Maldives via Singapore with her husband and two children, was named the 1 millionth tourist. This is her second visit to the Maldives.
She was accorded a warm welcome at Velana International Airport (VIA). Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal, MMPRC Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree and other senior officials were present at the ceremony held at VIA.
Ministry of Tourism, MMPRC, Maldives Customs, Immigration, Matato and TMA offered various gifts to the tourist.
In a post on X today, MMPRC said that without the support of all stakeholders in the tourism industry, one million tourists would not be possible and thanked for that. The government aims to attract two million tourists this year.
