Lawmakers on Wednesday moved an emergency motion in the Parliament calling for an investigation into the corruption committed by the officials of the FENAKA Corporation in the previous government.

The emergency motion was moved by South Feydhoo MP Ibrahim Didi.

Moving the emergency motion, MP Didi said the company's services to the public have been disrupted due to the negligence of those in charge of running the company.

He said the emergency motion was moved to bring the matter to the attention of the government and to identify the steps taken or intended to be taken by the government.

He said the people should know the corruption committed by the FENAKA officials.

He further alleged that MVR 100 million has been spent on FENAKA's transportation in the last five years. In addition, MVR 100 million has been spent on servicing the generators, he said.
